Compton effect

In this lecture, we will discuss the particle nature of radiation by Compton Effect. According to Compton effect, the scattered radiation experiences a wavelength shift that cannot be explained in terms of classical wave theory. After watching this video lecture, students will be able to understand: * Concept of Compton Effect and relation the between Compton’s shift and Compton wavelength * Scattered photon Intensity variation for various scattering angles * Most important numerical problems on Kinetic Energy and direction of recoiled electron.
